Wolves Official: Sack Manager Vitor Pereira; Team Only Has 2 Points After 10 Rounds

Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (Wolves) officially announced the termination of its cooperation with head coach Vitor Pereira.

According to multiple media reports, this decision was made after the 0-3 defeat to Fulham. Currently, the team has failed to win a single game in the first 10 rounds of the Premier League season, accumulating only 2 points—making Wolves the first team in Premier League history to remain winless after the opening 10 matches, a humiliating record that forced the club’s hand.

Pereira took over Wolves in December last year and subsequently led the team to achieve the relegation goal. As recently as September this year, he signed a long-term contract extension with Wolves until 2028.

It was previously reported that there was a termination clause in his contract, which allowed Wolves to avoid paying the full severance compensation when sacking him this time.

All eight members of Pereira’s coaching staff have also left the club.

U21 Head Coach James Collins and Under-18 Head Coach Richard Walker will take charge of training sessions while the club finalizes the appointment of a new first-team manager.

Executive Chairman Jeff Shi said: “We would like to thank Vitor and his team for their tireless work at Wolves and for helping guide us through a challenging period last season.

“Unfortunately, the start to this season has been disappointing. Despite our strong desire to give the head coach time and games to seek improvement, we have reached a point where a change is necessary.

“We appreciate the efforts made by Vitor and his staff and wish them all the best for the future.”
