Where Will He Go? After Being Sacked by Fenerbahçe, Mourinho Wants to Return to Manage in the Premier League

José Mourinho, 62, is ready to take on another challenge – and for the former Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea manager, this could mean a return to coaching in the Premier League. Interestingly, back in October last year, Mourinho stated that he was already prepared to embrace a new challenge in England.

In an interview at the time, Mourinho said, “When I leave Fenerbahçe, I will join a club that does not participate in UEFA competitions. Therefore, if any club at the bottom of the table in England needs a coach to help them avoid relegation within two years, then I am ready. I don’t want to say anything more than that.”

It is worth noting that Newcastle United has long been linked with Mourinho, but the Magpies have never seriously considered appointing the Portuguese manager – especially after head coach Eddie Howe’s outstanding performance in charge.

West Ham United, currently struggling under Graham Potter, may be interested in Mourinho. The Hammers have conceded 8 goals in their first two Premier League matches this season and are yet to secure a win.

Either way, Mourinho has been consistently drawing attention from the Premier League. Early in his managerial career, the Portuguese coach led Chelsea to win Premier League titles and multiple domestic cup championships. He also guided Inter Milan and Porto to claim UEFA Champions League titles.
