The 16 European teams will be divided into 4 qualification paths based on seeding. Each path consists of 4 teams, competing for one World Cup spot per path through two rounds of single-leg knockout matches.

In the first round of the knockout stage within each path, Pot 1 teams will host Pot 4 teams, while Pot 2 teams will host Pot 3 teams.

The venue for the final of each path’s knockout stage will be confirmed at the draw ceremony, no longer determined by seeding.
