Saudi Arabia has submitted its bid documents for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, and this stadium is among the 15 venues included in the bid. Reportedly, Saudi authorities have named it the "NEOM Stadium," which will be built 1,150 feet (approximately 350 meters) above the ground and have a capacity of 46,000 spectators. In the bid materials, it is described as “the most unique stadium in the world.”
The stadium is scheduled to start construction in 2027 and is expected to be completed in 2032. After the World Cup, it will serve as the home ground for a newly established Saudi professional football team.
