The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) issued an official announcement, confirming that Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has withdrawn from the national team’s current squad.

Official Announcement from RFEF

The RFEF medical team was informed at 1:47 PM on Monday, November 10—the first official day of national team training—that player Lamine Yamal had undergone invasive radiofrequency treatment for pubic discomfort that morning. The federation expressed shock and dissatisfaction over this.

The treatment procedure was carried out without prior notification to the national team’s medical team. We only learned the specific details through a medical report at 10:40 PM last night, which recommended the player rest for 7-10 days.

In light of the current situation, and with the athlete’s health, safety, and interests always as our top priority, the RFEF has decided to allow the player to withdraw from the current national team call-up.

We are confident that the player will recover smoothly and wish him a full and speedy return to fitness.

A new dispute has arisen between Barcelona and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), with Lamine Yamal at the center of the controversy. The young Barcelona player has been removed from Spain’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Turkey.

The RFEF released a statement on Monday, expressing "shock and dissatisfaction" at the medical treatment administered to the player without prior notification to the national team’s medical team.

According to the federation’s announcement, its medical service center was informed at 1:47 PM on Monday, November 10—the first official day of national team training (the player was scheduled to report in the afternoon)—that the young Barcelona player had undergone "invasive radiofrequency treatment" for pubic discomfort that morning. The RFEF noted that the national team’s medical staff were not notified in advance and only received the medical report at 10:40 PM on Sunday.
