Premier League Table After 12 Rounds: Arsenal Lead by 6 Points; Tottenham, Man Utd & Liverpool Level on Points

After the 12th round of the Premier League concluded, the latest table was released. Arsenal cruised to a 4-1 home victory over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, retaining the top spot with 29 points from 9 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. Compared with the end of the previous round, the Gunners extended their gap with Manchester City from 4 points to 7, and also held a 6-point advantage over Chelsea behind them, putting them in an increasingly dominant position in the title race.
Chelsea secured crucial three points with a 2-0 away win over Burnley, moving up from third to second place in the table. After 12 rounds, their record stands at 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses with 23 points. Manchester City, however, lost 1-2 to Newcastle United at St. James' Park, dropping from second to third with 22 points (7 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses). This defeat further distanced them from Arsenal in the title chase.
The European qualification zone also witnessed changes. Aston Villa came from behind to beat Leeds United 2-1 away, overtaking several competitors to climb to fourth; Crystal Palace claimed a 2-0 away win over Wolves to grab three points and rank fifth with 20 points; Brighton defeated Brentford 2-1 at home, sitting sixth with 19 points. Sunderland, the promoted side who were fourth last round, lost 0-1 away to Fulham and slipped to seventh, but still share 19 points with Brighton, continuing to cling to the European spots.
Among mid-table teams, Bournemouth drew 2-2 with West Ham United at home to reach 19 points and rank eighth; Tottenham dropped to ninth after their heavy defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Manchester United lost 0-1 to Everton at Old Trafford, only managing 18 points to finish 10th, while Everton also secured 18 points with this away victory and followed closely. Liverpool suffered a surprise 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, a heavy blow that saw them fall from eighth to 12th.
Competition in the lower half intensified. Brentford are 13th with 16 points after 12 rounds; Newcastle United climbed to 14th with 15 points following their win over Man City; Fulham moved up to 15th thanks to three points from beating Sunderland. Nottingham Forest reached 12 points and ranked 16th after winning at Anfield. West Ham United are 17th with 11 points, Leeds United also have 11 points but fell into the relegation zone due to inferior goal difference (18th), and Burnley are 19th with 10 points.
Wolves remain stuck at the bottom. After losing 0-2 at home to Crystal Palace this round, they have only 2 points from 12 games and are still struggling to secure their first win of the season.
