Petit: Vinícius Is a Problem; Maybe He Should Go to a Smaller Club to Be the Core

Former French international Emmanuel Petit shared his views on Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. in an interview with Camel Live recently.
Petit said: “Since Vinícius lost to Rodri in the Ballon d'Or voting and Mbappé joined Real Madrid, he has become a 'problem figure' at Real Madrid. There have been constant conflicts between Vinícius and the club, as he believes the club has disrespected him in terms of contract issues and salary.”
“Vinícius is always complaining: 'Why is it always me? Why am I substituted? Why didn't I win the Ballon d'Or?' This has become a trouble in the Real Madrid dressing room.”
“Nowadays, I really can't understand why players have to apologize on social media. Want to communicate with the coach? Go to his office, talk to the president, talk to teammates. There's no need to let the whole world see your apology.”
“I saw what Ancelotti said to Vinícius. He said he had talked to Vinícius about the controversial incident and pointed out that Vinícius made a mistake then. If Ancelotti, the Brazil coach and one of the greatest coaches in football history, publicly criticizes you, it's probably because he's also fed up with Vinícius' behavior. If I were in the same dressing room as him, I would definitely have a stern talk with him.”
“Aren't you satisfied playing for Real Madrid, the top club in the world? Maybe Vinícius should go to a smaller club, where he can be the core star.”
“Mbappé is now the 'king', while Vinícius is dissatisfied because his salary doesn't reach Mbappé's level and the team is built around Mbappé. Previously, Bellingham also seemed dissatisfied with Mbappé's arrival because his goal count decreased, but this situation has changed recently. Everything has changed — the media's tone, the dressing room atmosphere, the on-field tactical system. Bellingham's performance is more professional, and his communication method is wiser than Vinícius'.”
“I think Real Madrid and Florentino are a bit arrogant. For example, Florentino held a party only for Real Madrid players just because they no longer like mainstream award ceremonies. Florentino thinks his players deserve awards like the Ballon d'Or, and I think Vinícius has the same mentality.”
“Vinícius might indeed have deserved the 2024 Ballon d'Or — he had an excellent season, but he didn't win it. Now Mbappé has joined, and Vinícius' contract expires in 2027. I think Real Madrid may sell him before his contract expires.”
"Real Madrid doesn't need to wait until 2027 to let Vinícius leave for free. Selling him now can earn a high transfer fee and avoid losing both the player and money. Moreover, I don't agree with Real Madrid's management of Vinícius, which is neither in Real Madrid's best interest nor conducive to the player's personal development."
