According to Camel.live reporters, Federico Paz is likely to participate in the World Cup, and Real Madrid will consider exercising their buyback option to assess him later.

Paz has attracted widespread attention at Como as he has become a regular starter under Cesc Fàbregas. This has also caught the eye of several top European clubs including Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur. However, Real Madrid has decided to prioritize repurchasing him to allow Xabi Alonso to evaluate his abilities.

Real Madrid’s senior management has been closely monitoring the 2004-born player’s development and is satisfied with his performances in key matches, including the one against Juventus. As is known, although Paz transferred to Como for €6 million, Real Madrid still retains a buyback option and holds over 50% of the profit from any future transfer (sell-on clause).

Nevertheless, sources from Argentina are convinced that Paz will return to Real Madrid next summer. Los Blancos only need to pay €9 million to bring him back, while Inter Milan would have to offer at least €58 million for Real Madrid to seriously consider their bid. Paz’s future has garnered much attention, especially as he has become a fan favorite and an icon of Como in less than two years, with fans dreaming of the team qualifying for European competitions this season.

There is another detail that cannot be overlooked. Reports indicate that Paz is highly likely to be called up by Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni for the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. Therefore, if he returns to Real Madrid, it may not happen until after the World Cup.
