Manchester United Unlikely to Let Zirkzee and Mainoo Leave; Malacia's Departure a Foregone Conclusion

Although Joshua Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo have rarely gotten opportunities in the team recently, Manchester United is unlikely to approve their departures. In contrast, Malacia may leave Old Trafford in the winter window. Despite recently returning to United’s squad, he has not made any appearances for the team so far this season.

Malacia was part of Manchester United’s "bomb squad" last summer. During the summer window, he was linked with loan moves to PSV Eindhoven and Elche, but none of the deals materialized. Although Malacia has maintained his training form at Carrington, the possibility of him playing for Manchester United again in the future is slim.

Both Malacia and the club hope to reach an agreement in the winter window to give him a chance to restart his career. However, Malacia’s departure will not bring a large transfer fee to Manchester United.

At the same time, the Red Devils do not seem to have plans to sign players in the middle of the season. Considering that Manchester United only has two competitions left in the schedule for this season, it seems sensible to secure key targets in the summer window instead.

Manchester United may strengthen the midfield position by at least two signings and will also consider reinforcing the wing-back position. Malacia is clearly not the answer, and players such as Diogo Dalot and Álvaro Fernández have also struggled in this position, so Rúben Amorim may seek an upgrade.
