On September 1, Bayer Leverkusen announced the sacking of head coach Erik ten Hag. According to sources from camel.live, the club (nicknamed "Die Werkself") needs to pay Ten Hag approximately €5 million in severance.

Reports state that Ten Hag was dismissed after managing just two rounds of the Bundesliga. However, from a financial perspective, the Dutch coach will receive lucrative compensation. Ten Hag’s contract with Bayer Leverkusen was originally set to expire in 2027, and the severance pay is being made in accordance with the amount specified in the contract.

After being quickly dismissed by Leverkusen, Ten Hag will receive around €5 million in compensation. When combined with his two months’ salary (covering the period from July 1 to August 31), Ten Hag will take home a total of €6 million—equivalent to approximately €100,000 per day.
