Khalid Jamil Unveils 23-Man Probable India Squad for Bangladesh Asian Cup Qualifier; Chhetri, Sahal & Liston Left Out

India’s senior men’s national football team head coach Khalid Jamil announced a 23-player probable squad on Wednesday for the upcoming FIFA International match window. The side is set to face Bangladesh in a 2027 Asian Cup qualifier at Dhaka’s National Stadium on November 18.
Since India has been eliminated from Asian Cup qualification contention, Jamil has decided to omit regular starters such as Sunil Chhetri, Sahal Abdul Samad, and Liston Colaco from the lineup. Only 13 players from the 23-man squad that featured in the two-legged fixture against Singapore have been retained.
Returning to the squad are forward Irfan Yadwad, midfielders Suresh Singh, Ashique Kuruniyan, and Brison Fernandes, while promising defender Bikash Yumnam has earned a call-up. Mohammed Sanan—who was initially named in the U23 squad earlier this week—has been promoted to join the senior team instead.
The team will hold a training camp in Bengaluru starting Thursday and is scheduled to travel to Dhaka on November 15.
