Real Madrid currently has no intention of selling Argentine midfielder Nico Paz, who plays for Serie A side Como. Despite Serie A giant Inter Milan having offered €60 million to Como, the Argentine international will not join the Nerazzurri. Notably, Como had already rejected a €50 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. It is understood that the Blancos are prioritizing their €10 million buyback clause, which will officially take effect next summer.

Nico Paz has been involved in 9 goals (4 goals, 5 assists) in the first 7 rounds of Serie A this season. The Argentine midfielder has displayed excellent form and performances, and has been included in Argentina’s national team squad on multiple occasions. Como’s sporting director Carlo Alberto Rudi admitted recently that Real Madrid indeed hopes to activate the buyback clause for Paz as soon as possible.

If Real Madrid exercises the buyback right, it will scupper Inter Milan’s plans to sign Nico Paz—Inter are known to be deeply interested in the player; around a year ago, club vice-president Javier Zanetti was seen dining with Nico Paz’s father, Pablo Paz, with whom he had connections during their time with the Argentina national team.

The two clubs maintain a good relationship. While awaiting further developments, Inter Milan has initiated preliminary contact with the team of the 2004-born rising star, at least trying to avoid competition. This pursuit is expected to continue for a long time until the summer transfer window opens.
