1. Chelsea vs Sunderland
- Date & Local Time: 3:00pm BST , Saturday 25th October 2025
- Venue: London, England
- Stadium: Stamford Bridge
- Preview: After a successful trip to the Midlands, Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge to tackle Sunderland, who got back to winning ways in the Premier League.
- Willy Caballero oversaw Chelsea's 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest last weekend as the Blues finished a man down. Chelsea had a lucky escape as Ange Postecoglou's side were toothless in front of goal. There were mistakes and rustiness all around before three halftime substitutions changed the game. Three second-half goals from Chelsea proved too costly for the Forest manager, as he was sacked just minutes after the game. Enzo Maresca returns to the dugout after his one-match touchline ban and hopes to pick three straight wins in the league as the Londoners aim to build momentum.
- Regis Le Bris will be pleased as his side got the better of Wolves to continue their flying return to the Premier League. The Black Cats registered their fourth victory as they moved level on points with Chelsea, separated only by goal difference. Nordi Mukiele opened the scoring before an own goal from Wolves sealed all three points. Sunderland last won at Stamford Bridge in 2014 and will be looking to cause an upset and steer clear of their opponents with eyes on European spots.

2. Manchester United vs Brighton
- Date & Local Time: 5:30pm BST , Saturday 25th October 2025
- Venue: Manchester, England
- Stadium: Old Trafford
- Preview: A thunderous Old Trafford will welcome Manchester United as they host Brighton in an exciting Premier League encounter on Saturday evening.
- Ruben Amorim got his biggest scalp to date as a Manchester United manager. The Portuguese manager recorded back-to-back victories in the Premier League for the first time when his side beat Liverpool 2-1 away from home. It was also a first victory at Anfield for the Red Devils in almost a decade. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring in the second minute. The defending champions found a way back in eventually, but the visitors did not buckle in. A first league goal of the campaign for Harry Maguire sealed a memorable win as Amorim aims to build some momentum. This huge win takes a lot of pressure off Amorim's shoulders for now, at least. Next up is a Brighton side against whom United have suffered back-to-back defeats.
- Brighton got back to winning ways after picking up an impressive 2-1 win against Newcastle United. Danny Welbeck scored a brace to seal the result for Fabian Hurzeler's men. This extended their unbeaten streak to five as the Seagulls climbed into the top half of the table. With only a point separating them from Manchester United, a victory would take them into the European spots. Brighton have won the last two encounters against Manchester United and will be in high spirits. Even more astonishing is their record of three successive away wins at Old Trafford. A fourth consecutive win at the Theatre of Dreams would pile pressure on Amorim.

3. Brentford vs Liverpool
- Date & Local Time: 8:00pm BST , Saturday 25th October 2025
- Venue: London, England
- Stadium: Gtech Community Stadium
- Preview: In Saturday's late kickoff, the buzzing Bees, Brentford, take on defending champions Liverpool in the Premier League.
- Brentford ended their wait for a first away victory by putting two past the sorry West Ham United on Monday night. Igor Thiago is delivering consistently for the Bees. Keith Andrews now looks like a seasoned Premier League manager who knows how to get the job done and keep his side afloat. The upcoming Liverpool game will feature as many as three Brentford starters with Liverpool ties. Jordan Henderson, the former Liverpool captain, is set for an emotional reunion with his old teammates.
- Liverpool just cannot win a Premier League game right now, or so it seems. Arne Slot's men slumped to three straight defeats in the league and dropped to fourth place. The latest defeat to arch-rivals Manchester United at Anfield would sting for a long time. Liverpool were sluggish but managed to create plenty of chances, which their usually clinical forwards failed to take. Cody Gakpo missed a sitter and hit the post thrice as Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah inexplicably fluffed their lines. Slot was right to point out the fine margins. But the Reds have looked off pace since the start of the season and have yet to find the right balance between control and chaos. The midweek thumping of Frankfurt will ease the worries for now. Despite falling behind, the Reds scored five times as Florian Wirtz registered his first assist for the club. They now head to a ground where games are anything but straightforward to change their league fortunes.

4. Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur
- Date & Local Time: 4:30pm BST, Sunday 26th October 2025
- Venue: Liverpool, England
- Stadium: Hill Dickinson Stadium
- Preview: Jarrad Branthwaite has suffered a setback to the hamstring injury he was close to returning from and will now undergo hamstring surgery. Having been out since the start of the season, this setback will keep him out a further 3 months.
- Alcaraz started in Grealish’s place last weekend, due to Grealish being loan locked. Grealish will come back into the starting XI at LW this weekend of course.
Barry started in GW7 but then Beto started last week against City. Given Beto did not impress and Everton did not score against City, whereas Everton won 2-1 when Barry started against a flying Crystal Palace side, I think Barry comes back in to the starting lineup. It is difficult to predict.
Against weaker opposition in their last 2 league games, facing Leeds and Wolves, Frank opted for a double pivot of Palhinha and Bentancur allowing Simons or Bergvall to play as a true 10, but against better opposition like Villa, I think Frank may opt to bring Sarr back in to the team who was performing at a high level to start the season but then picked up a knock that halted momentum. That way there are 3 true midfielders in the lineup, who will provide more out of possession and defensively than having Simons in that central role.
Porro and Udogie started at full-back in GW7. Spence and Udogie started in GW6. Clearly there will be some rotation between these 3 players given Tottenham have plenty of midweek games between the Champions League and domestic cup competitions, as well as Spence’s ability to play either side.
Tel started the last league game and scored in the 2-1 win over Leeds, at least making a very good case to start again in GW8 vs Aston Villa. However Richarlison could come straight back in to the starting XI for this game and I would not be surprised. Solanke returning also makes things even more unclear, but the coming weeks should clear up how Frank views the pecking order for his starting striker spot.

5. Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
- Date & Local Time: 2:00pm BST, Sunday 26th October 2025
- Venue: London, England
- Stadium: Emirates Stadium
- Preview: League leaders Arsenal return home to host Crystal Palace in yet another London Derby in consecutive weeks in the Premier League.
- '1-0 to the Arsenal' was belted out in full voice by the travelling Gunners fans at Fulham as Mikel Arteta's men picked up their fifth consecutive win in all competitions. Fulham frustrated Arsenal as the first half ended goalless. When little was happening from open play, a set piece helped their cause. Once they took the lead, you could always bet they would never give it up so easily. Despite Fulham's late blitz, the Gunners comfortably saw out the game to another three points. With a three-point gap opening up at the top of the table, the Gunners will be looking to pull further clear. An incredible 4-0 victory against Atletico Madrid at home sent a statement to the rest of Europe as well. They will visit Crystal Palace next in an emotional outing for Eberechi Eze.
- After going 19 games unbeaten, Crystal Palace were minutes away from losing two in a row. The Eagles showed incredible character to avoid defeat. Jean-Philippe Mateta was the hero as his hat-trick, which included a 97th-minute penalty, saved the day. Mateta even skied a 99th-minute sitter as Oliver Glasner had to settle for a point. However, they crashed to a defeat in Europe midweek. A shock 1-0 home loss to Cypriot side AEK Larnaca will sting them. Glasner needs to rotate his thin squad to keep the players fresh. They also eye a first victory at the Emirates Stadium since 2019.

6. Aston Villa vs Manchester City
- Date & Local Time: 2:00pm BST, Sunday 26th October 2025
- Venue: Birmingham, England
- Stadium: Villa Park
- Preview: Sunday's early kickoff sees two sides in excellent form taking on each other as Aston Villa host Manchester City in the Premier League.
- Emiliano Buendia scored a Goal of the Season contender as Aston Villa came from behind to defeat Tottenham away from home. Unai Emery's men have put their slow start behind them. They are flying with three consecutive victories in the league and are looking like European contenders again. A resilient midfield with individual brilliance in attack will be tough for any side to contain. However, they came crashing to the ground after losing to Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League. Emery's focus will be on extending the winning run in the league. They enjoy a fairly successful recent head-to-head record with Manchester City and will be eager to extend it.
- Pep Guardiola's side is known for having multiple match winners. But in 2025, we may just as well call Manchester City an Erling Haaland team. The Norwegian goal machine was on target yet again as City made short work of Villarreal in the Champions League. However, the Cityzens are looking much sharper and are controlling games better. They are nine games unbeaten and rose to second in the Premier League thanks to that run. As the momentum builds steadily, expect them to mount a title challenge.
