Griezmann Reaches 300 La Liga Wins, Yet Has Never Won the Title

Since making his La Liga debut for Real Sociedad in 2011, Antoine Griezmann has secured 300 league victories. The French star has etched his name into the elite list of players with 300+ La Liga wins, ranking 11th—all other players on this list are from Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Of these 300 wins, 199 were achieved with Atlético Madrid, 47 with Barcelona, and 54 with Real Sociedad. The players ahead of him include: Lionel Messi (383 wins), Sergio Busquets (352), Sergio Ramos (342), Iker Casillas (334), Andoni Zubizarreta (333), Raúl González (327), Xavi Hernández (322), Manuel Sanchís (312), Andrés Iniesta (312), and Karim Benzema (309).
However, awkwardly, among these 11 players who have reached 300 La Liga wins, Griezmann is the only one who has never won the La Liga title. Messi has won 10 La Liga titles, Iniesta and Busquets have 9 each, Sanchís and Xavi have 8 each, Raúl and Zubizarreta have 6 each, Casillas and Ramos have 5 each, and Benzema has 4.
This is linked to a decision he made earlier in his career. Under Diego Simeone, he had a chance to win the title—during Atlético Madrid’s last championship run in the 2020-21 season. But shortly before that, he decided to transfer to Barcelona in an attempt to claim the title; yet the irony of football is that the championship was ultimately won by his former team (Atlético Madrid).
As a result, Griezmann has become the player with the most La Liga wins in history who has never lifted the league trophy. He heads a list of such players that also includes Joaquín Sánchez (249 wins), Jesús Navas (242), Daniel Parejo (232), and José Ángel Iribar (193)—none of whom have won a La Liga title.
