Facing Consecutive Tough Opponents! Frank May Face Trust Crisis If He Fails to Reverse Tottenham's Slump

After a hard-fought draw away to Monaco in the Champions League this week, Tottenham Hotspur’s recent slump continues. The club has won only 2 of its last 7 matches, and head coach Frank is facing an uncertain future.
Tottenham is currently mired in multiple predicaments. First and foremost is the issue of intensity differences between the dual competitions of the Champions League and the Premier League. Frank stated that it is difficult for Tottenham’s players to adapt to both the rigorous challenges of the Premier League and the obvious strength gap in the Champions League, leaving the players with double fatigue both mentally and physically.
From a tactical perspective, Tottenham’s problems remain severe. The team can barely pose an effective threat in the attacking third during open play, and midfield issues have been a long-standing problem needing resolution—highly similar to those faced by Conte, Mourinho, and even Pochettino in the later stages of their tenures. After losing the stable goal output of Kane and Son Heung-min, the team’s offensive firepower has weakened significantly, and the attacking style from former head coach Postecoglou’s early tenure has vanished.
Injuries have further worsened Tottenham’s situation. In the match against Monaco, as many as ten first-team players were absent, including key players such as Romero, Kulusevski, and Maddison. This not only greatly weakened the team’s overall strength but also left Frank with almost no room for rotation and adjustments in his squad selection.
In the last seven matches, Tottenham has won only two—one of which was against League One side Doncaster Rovers—showing a clear downward trend in form. Additionally, in the Premier League, the team will face Everton, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal in succession; in the EFL Cup, they will play away to Newcastle United; and in the Champions League, they will host Copenhagen and face Paris Saint-Germain away. Therefore, if Tottenham fails to deliver more convincing performances in this series of tough matches, Frank will likely face a trust crisis from Tottenham’s senior management.
