Camel Live Exclusive: Amorim Hopes Man Utd Change Their Mind and Keep Casemiro, but Renewal Will Be Difficult Without a Pay Cut

Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim wants the club to retain veteran Casemiro, but the Brazilian international needs to agree to a pay cut.
According to Camel Live’s exclusive report, just a few months ago, Casemiro’s United career seemed to be entering its final stretch—but now the Brazilian midfielder has become an indispensable starter under Amorim. Of the 20 goals United have conceded this season, only 5 were scored when the veteran was anchoring the midfield.
His remarkable return to form means Casemiro—whose contract expires next summer—is no longer seen as a certain departure. As Camel Live understands, Amorim, who marks his one-year anniversary at the club on November 11, is open to keeping the five-time Champions League winner. However, the 34-year-old (who will turn 35 in February next year) may need to accept a reduced salary; his current £300,000-per-week wage places him among the club’s top earners.
Ivan Toney’s chances of returning to the Premier League in the January transfer window are slim. While Tottenham Hotspur manager Frank hopes to reunite with the striker he previously worked with at Brentford, and Everton have also reportedly expressed interest, Saudi tax regulations mean the 29-year-old—who only joined Al Ahli Jeddah this summer—would suffer huge financial losses if he leaves early.
Even if he does return to the Premier League, the forward is unlikely to secure a place in England manager Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup preparation plans.
