According to Camel.live journalists, FC Barcelona has a two-player shortlist for striker signings, as they do not plan to renew Polish striker Robert Lewandowski’s contract. Lewandowski’s contract with Barça is coming to an end, and reports indicate that renewal talks have cooled down in recent weeks as sports director Deco weighs the club’s options.
It is said that the 37-year-old Polish international has told Barça he wants to stay in Barcelona, but his age and injury record mean there is no guarantee he will be offered a new contract. In this regard, Turkish media reports that Fenerbahçe plans to hold pre-contract talks with Lewandowski in January, aiming to sign the striker on a free transfer next summer with a two-year deal.
Additionally, the experienced striker is also said to have received an offer from Saudi Arabia, but if he leaves Barça, he prefers to stay in European football or move to Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
If Lewandowski departs, Victor Osimhen will be Barça’s top target. The Nigerian international has shone both for his club and national team this season: he has scored 6 goals in 9 appearances for Galatasaray, including a crucial goal against Liverpool in the Champions League last month; at the national team level, he scored a hat-trick against Benin, helping the team secure a spot in the World Cup qualifying play-offs.
After an impressive loan spell in the 2024-25 season, Osimhen officially joined Galatasaray this summer for a transfer fee of €75 million (£66 million), signing a contract until 2029. Spanish media points out that the 26-year-old striker’s high valuation will put financial pressure on Barça, so the club will adopt a strategy occasionally used in past transfer negotiations: it will require the player to take the initiative to express his willingness to leave.
Furthermore, according to sources, Barça’s backup option is Levante striker Eyo. The 22-year-old Cameroonian prospect has contributed 6 goals and 3 assists in 10 La Liga appearances this season, including a goal against Real Madrid, and has attracted interest from several European clubs.
